Email enrichment tool and email enrichment API that fills the email column of your lead list
Upload the names and company domains you already have. Each row comes back with the most likely work email, the format that company uses and a clear status, so the file is ready for your sequence or your CRM.
By CSV, by native export to HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce, or by API. Only verified matches count against your plan.
Enrich one row here, the same way every row of your file is enriched.

What email enrichment does to your lead list
Email enrichment takes records that have a person and a company but no address, and adds a work email to each one. The columns you already have stay as they are. Four columns are added, and every row gets a status, including the rows we could not confirm.
You are billed for the green rows only.
| Name | Domain | Email added | Pattern | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Priya Raman | northwind.io | [email protected] | first.last | Valid, billed |
| Marcus Webb | bluepeak.com | [email protected] | flast | Valid, billed |
| Dana Ortiz | harborlaw.com | [email protected] | first | Not confirmed, not billed |
| Sam Keller | oldco.net | none | no mail server | Not found, not billed |
| Priya Raman | northwind.io | same as row 1 | duplicate | Duplicate, not billed |

Who uses an email enrichment tool, and for which list
Almost every B2B team ends up with a file of people and companies and no way to reach them. The source of the file changes. The missing column does not.
Event and webinar lists
Trade show badge scans and speaker lists often come with a name, a title and a company, and nothing else. Enriching them the week after the event is when the list is worth the most.
CRM records with no email
Contacts created from LinkedIn, calls or business cards sit in HubSpot or Salesforce with an empty email field. Growth exports enriched rows straight back onto the right records, and the Salesforce email finder page shows how verified addresses land in Lead fields.
Account lists from a database
Your team picked the people from a database or a LinkedIn search, but the export came back with guessed or missing addresses. Enrichment fills the gaps and checks the rest.
Agencies working client lists
Outbound agencies receive target lists from every client in a different shape. One bulk job per client, with unlimited seats on Scale, keeps each client's rows and costs separate.
How does email enrichment work?
Email enrichment works by turning a name and a company into an address and then proving the address exists. The proof step is the one cheap tools skip, and it is the reason enriched lists bounce.
-
Map your columns
Upload the CSV and point us at the name columns (full name, or first and last) and the company domain. Extra columns pass through untouched.
-
Clean the input
Duplicate people are merged, and each website domain is traced through its MX records to the domain that actually receives mail.
-
Find each address
The company's address format is ranked from evidence, then each person's candidate addresses are built from it, most likely first.
-
Verify and return
Every address gets the domain and address checks and a look on the company's own pages, without sending anything. You download the file, or it goes straight to your CRM.
If your file has companies but no people yet, run a domain email lookup first to see who is published on each domain. If it already has addresses of unknown age, bulk email verification checks them before you enrich anything else.
Three kinds of email enrichment tools, and which one fits your list
Tools sold as email enrichment fall into three groups. They are good at different things, and they bill differently, which matters more than the headline price.
| Type | Examples | Where the email comes from | How you pay | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contact database | Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha | A stored record, as fresh as the vendor's last refresh | Per seat, plus credits; Apollo's paid plans start at $49 a seat a month billed yearly | Finding who to contact, plus phone numbers and firmographics |
| Waterfall enrichment | Clay, FullEnrich | Several third-party providers queried in turn | Credits per lookup, which vary by provider hit | Teams that want many data points per row and can build workflows |
| Finder with verification | EmailExtractor, Hunter | Built from the company's format and checked against its own pages on the day | Hunter bills 1 credit per email found; we count verified finds only | Lists where you know the people and need work emails |
We do email only. We do not add phone numbers, job titles, revenue or headcount, and we do not return personal Gmail or Outlook addresses. If you need those, a database is the right purchase. If the email column is what stands between your list and a campaign, you should not pay database prices for it. Our Hunter io pricing breakdown works out the cost per verified email on the closest alternative.
How much does email enrichment cost?
Email enrichment typically costs 2 to 10 cents per enriched email once plan fees are divided out, and more when you pay for rows that never produce a usable address. On our plans a row counts only when it returns a verified work email, which works out to 4.9 cents on Starter and under 3 cents on Growth and Scale.
- Starter, $49 a month: 1,000 verified finds, 2 seats, CSV import and export up to 1,000 rows.
- Growth, $149 a month: 5,000 verified finds, 10 seats, bulk jobs up to 10,000 rows, native export to HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce, and scheduled re-verification of saved lists.
- Scale, $399 a month: 20,000 verified finds, unlimited seats, the REST API and webhooks for enriching records as they are created.
- Not billed on any plan: rows with no address found, unconfirmed guesses, duplicates and rows on domains that do not receive mail.
Email enrichment API for new records
A spreadsheet is fine once a quarter. When records arrive every day, from a form, a product signup or a rep adding contacts, enrichment belongs in the pipeline. The email finder API covers single lookups and whole files.
| Endpoint | Use it to |
|---|---|
| POST /v1/find | Enrich one new record from a name and a company domain |
| POST /v1/bulk | Enrich a whole file and get a job id back |
| GET /v1/jobs/{id} | Check a bulk job and fetch its results, or wait for the webhook |
| POST /v1/verify | Check an address a record already has before you trust it |
Email enrichment questions
What is the best email enrichment tool?
It depends on what your list is missing. If you need to discover who works at a company, a contact database such as Apollo or ZoomInfo is the better start. If you already have names and companies and only the email column is empty, a finder that checks each address and shows its evidence costs less, because you pay only for verified matches.
How does email enrichment work?
You upload records with a name and a company, and the tool fills in the missing email address. Good tools resolve the company's mail domain, work out its address format, build the candidate address for each person and confirm it where they can. The result comes back as a new column with a status for every row.
How much does email enrichment cost?
Most tools charge per credit, from about 2 cents to 10 cents per enriched email, and contact databases add per-seat fees on top. What matters is what a credit is spent on. On our plans a row counts only when it returns a verified address, so rows that miss, unconfirmed guesses and duplicates cost nothing.
Can I enrich a CSV of leads with emails?
Yes. Upload a CSV with a full name, or first and last name, plus a company domain per row. Starter handles files of up to 1,000 rows, and Growth runs bulk jobs of up to 10,000 rows. You get the same file back with the email, the pattern it follows, a confidence score and a status column added.
Is there an email enrichment API?
Yes, on the Scale plan. POST /v1/find resolves one person's work address from a name and a domain, and POST /v1/bulk takes a whole file and returns a job id, with a webhook when the job finishes. Teams use it to enrich new CRM records and form signups the moment they arrive.
Is email enrichment legal?
In the US, enriching business contacts with their work email is legal, and emailing them is allowed under CAN-SPAM if you identify yourself, use honest subject lines, include a postal address and honor opt-outs. For contacts in the EU or UK, GDPR applies, so record your legitimate interest and keep a suppression list. We return work addresses only, never personal ones.
Turn the list you have into a list you can send to
Upload names and domains, get verified work emails back, and pay only for the rows that produced one.
