Clearbit alternative and Clearbit Connect alternative for finding work emails after the 2025 shutdown
Clearbit Connect stopped working on April 30, 2025, and the Clearbit data now lives inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence. If what you really used it for was typing a name and a company and getting the email, do that here: you get the work address, the company page that backs it, and you pay only for verified finds.
For SDRs, founders and recruiters who lost the Gmail sidebar. Works with or without HubSpot.

What is the best alternative to Clearbit?
First work out which Clearbit you miss. Clearbit did two different jobs. Enrichment took a record you already had, usually keyed by email, and filled in title, company size and industry. Connect did the opposite: you typed a name and a company in Gmail or Outlook and it showed the person's email. HubSpot kept the first job and retired the second. If you are on a paid HubSpot plan, its built-in enrichment covers the first. For the second, you need an email finder.

Can HubSpot find email addresses like Clearbit Connect did?
Not the way Connect did. HubSpot's help center says contact enrichment uses the first name, last name and work email address to match a record, then updates the other properties when it finds them. The email is an input to that lookup. The article does not describe finding an address for a contact who has none, and there is no sidebar that returns an email for a name you type.
Fill in the rest of the record
Job title, company size, industry, location. HubSpot enrichment does this on paid plans without using credits.
megan@ → title, company, size
Find the work email
What Connect did in Gmail. Give a name and a company domain and get the address with its evidence.
Megan Lewis + zapier.com → email
Most teams that search for a Clearbit alternative want the right card. They have a target account list, a LinkedIn profile or a conference badge, and the email column is empty. That is the job this site does, and the one where a HubSpot seat alone leaves a gap.
Already on HubSpot?
Keep its enrichment for the records you have and use a finder only for the empty email field. On Growth, verified rows push straight into HubSpot contacts. The HubSpot email verification tool guide shows how that flow works.
Clearbit alternatives compared for email lookups
The four options buyers usually weigh after Connect went away. Each row comes from the vendor's own pricing page or help center, including the rows where someone else wins.
| HubSpot Breeze Intelligence | Hunter | Apollo.io | EmailExtractor | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Finds an email from name and company | Not described; email is a match input | Yes | Yes, from its database | Yes, with the page that backs it |
| Fills company and job fields | Yes, its main job | Some, through enrichment | Yes | No, email only |
| Needs a HubSpot account | Yes, paid Starter or above | No | No | No, pushes to it on Growth |
| Entry price | The HubSpot plan; enrichment uses no credits | $49 a month, or $34 a month yearly | $49 a seat a month, yearly | $49 a month, or $24 a month yearly |
| Phone numbers | Not sold for direct dials | No | Yes, extra credits | No |
| Billed when nothing is found | No credit used for enrichment | No | Credits spent on reveals and exports | No, and unconfirmed guesses are free too |
| API | HubSpot CRM API | All plans | Yes | REST API and webhooks on Scale |
| Best for | Teams already paying for HubSpot | Emails by company domain | Database, sequences and dialer in one seat | Named prospects, evidence per address |
Where others beat us, plainly: HubSpot fills firmographic fields we never touch, and Apollo has a searchable database, phones and sequences. Hunter has a free tier. If you are weighing HubSpot seats for the data, Clearbit pricing shows what enrichment and intent cost there now, and the Hunter.io alternative page compares Hunter with verified-only finders. If one of them is already on your shortlist, the full plan math is in Hunter.io pricing and Apollo.io pricing.
Who needs a Clearbit Connect replacement
SDRs working named accounts
You know the VP you want and the company. Use the decision maker email finder to get the address and see where it came from before the first touch.
Recruiters reaching candidates
Connect was a quiet favorite for sourcing. The recruiter email finder covers the same lookup from a name and current employer.
Founders and partnership leads
A handful of high value emails a week, each one worth checking. Start with the email finder by name.
How to replace Clearbit Connect in four steps
There is no extension to install. The lookup runs in the browser for one person or from a CSV for a whole list.
-
Type a name and domain
The same two fields you typed into the Connect sidebar.
-
See the evidence
The company page that published the address, the pattern and the domain checks.
-
Run the whole list
Upload names and domains. Starter takes 1,000 rows per job, Growth 10,000.
-
Send it to the CRM
Download, or push to HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce on Growth.
What a Connect style workflow costs here
Connect was free, so any paid tool feels like a step up in cost. The fair comparison is time: a rep who spends ten minutes guessing and checking one address costs more than a verified find at 2.4 to 4.9 cents on Starter. A recruiter doing 40 lookups a week fits inside Starter with room to spare.
- Starter, $49 a month or $288 a year: 1,000 verified finds a month, 2 seats, bulk jobs up to 1,000 rows.
- Growth, $149 a month or $888 a year: 5,000 verified finds a month, 10 seats, bulk jobs up to 10,000 rows, push to HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce, scheduled re-verification of saved lists.
- Scale, $399 a month or $2,388 a year: 20,000 verified finds a month, unlimited seats, REST API and webhooks. See the email finder API if you called the Clearbit API from your own code.
- Never counted: addresses not found, failed checks, unconfirmed pattern guesses and duplicates.
Clearbit alternative questions
What is the best alternative to Clearbit?
It depends on which Clearbit job you lost. For enriching records you already have, HubSpot's own data enrichment (the former Clearbit data, now Breeze Intelligence) is included on paid HubSpot plans. For finding a person's work email from their name and company, which is what Clearbit Connect did, you need an email finder such as Hunter, Apollo.io or EmailExtractor.
Is Clearbit Connect still available?
No. Clearbit discontinued Connect, the free platform, the Weekly Visitor Report, the TAM Calculator and the free Slack integration on April 30, 2025, and stopped creating free accounts. The free Logo API followed on December 1, 2025. Clearbit points former users to Breeze Intelligence inside HubSpot.
What replaced Clearbit?
HubSpot bought Clearbit and relaunched its data as Breeze Intelligence at INBOUND 2024. It now works as HubSpot data enrichment, form shortening and buyer intent inside a HubSpot account. It is not sold as a standalone tool, and the Gmail sidebar that showed an email for any name and company did not come back.
Can HubSpot find email addresses like Clearbit Connect did?
Not in the same way. HubSpot's help center says contact enrichment matches on first name, last name and work email address, then fills the other properties. It does not describe finding an address for a contact who has none. To fill an empty email column you still need a finder, then push the verified rows into HubSpot.
How much does Breeze Intelligence cost?
HubSpot says data enrichment does not consume HubSpot Credits for accounts on Starter, Professional or Enterprise subscriptions, so the cost is the HubSpot plan itself. Buyer intent and smart properties do use credits. Teams that are not on HubSpot cannot buy the former Clearbit data on its own any more.
Is there a Clearbit alternative that does not need HubSpot?
Yes. Email finders work on their own: you give a name and a company domain and get an address back, in a browser, from a CSV or through an API. EmailExtractor shows the company page each address was published on and only counts verified finds, starting at $49 a month or $288 a year.
Get the email back for the names you already have
Type a name and a company. Every address is checked, and only the ones the company backs count.
